MESA SCHOOLHOUSE

MESA SCHOOLHOUSE

Originally built in 1916, the Mesa Schoolhouse stands as a reminder of our past and the educational heritage of Routt County.  After the school consolidation of 1959, the schoolhouse changed owners and uses until finally the City of Steamboat Springs acquired the Mesa Schoolhouse with intent to preserve the school and site as a resource for the community.

LITTLE RED SCHOOLHOUSE AT CANYON CREEK

Originally erected circa 1900-1925, the little red schoolhouse at Canyon Creek is located in west Glenwood Springs. It represents early Colorado educational facilities and the advent of community gathering. Restoring the schoolhouse, associated out buildings and site will provide a sense of historic pride and responsibility to the region.

 

 

 

HARRINGTON CABIN

HARRINGTON CABIN

Located just north of Steamboat Springs on Highway 129, the Harrington Ranch enjoys 1,400 Acres of land.  Several outbuildings exist including this original cabin complete with period details throughout.
 

 

 

ROUTT NATIONAL BANK BUILDING

ROUTT NATIONAL BANK BUILDING

Located on the corners of 8th Street and Lincoln Avenue, the Routt National Bank Building is one of the most prominent buildings in downtown Steamboat Springs. Originally erected in 1919, the Bank Building historically represents the development of commerce and social organizations in the history of town and Routt County, its exterior restoration reminds us of our architectural heritage.

 

 

CABEEN

PERRY MANSFIELD- "CABEEN"

One of 100 buildings at Perry Mansfield School for the Performing Arts, Cabeen was built in 1911 as a dormitory for campers and students. Periodic additions are utilized  for classrooms and additional living spaces. Receiving grants from the Colorado Historical Society has enabled us to structurally and aesthetically restore this historical building so it may continue to function and exist as an imporant historical camp landmark.

 

 

LEGACY RANCH HOUSE

LEGACY RANCH

Located outside of town on US Highway 40, this historic working ranch represents a historically intact agricultural property that contributes to the ranching heritage and history of Routt County. The main ranch house (erected in 1917) and other associated out-buildings have been evaluated and aesthetically and structurally restored for adaptive re-use.
